Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Local Habitat ReStore chapters operate retail stores funded by donated furniture. Proceeds fund local housing construction.
Couches in usable condition get routed to local 501(c)(3) charity partners — Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Salvation Army, Furniture Bank affiliates, and Goodwill chapters. Same upfront pricing, same fast pickup, the item just goes to a different destination.
Loaders maintain relationships with local 501(c)(3) charity partners across the country. The specific partner depends on your location, the partner's intake schedule, and the condition of the item.
Local Habitat ReStore chapters operate retail stores funded by donated furniture. Proceeds fund local housing construction.
Local Salvation Army Family Stores accept furniture donations. Proceeds support adult rehabilitation programs.
Furniture Bank affiliates redistribute donated furniture directly to families transitioning out of homelessness or domestic violence.
Local Goodwill chapters accept furniture for retail resale. Proceeds fund job training and employment placement programs.
Charity partners have intake standards. Items that meet the standards get routed for donation; items that don't get routed for recycling or compliant disposal instead. The Loader evaluates at pickup.
Couch Disposal Plus is a pickup and routing platform — not a charity itself. When your item qualifies for donation, the assigned Loader routes it to a local 501(c)(3) charity partner at their discretion based on condition, partner availability, and intake schedule. The decision of whether to accept any specific donation belongs to the receiving charity.
We do not guarantee donation acceptance or the issuance of tax receipts. Tax receipts, when issued, come directly from the receiving charity organization — not from Couch Disposal Plus or LoadUp Technologies. Receipt practices vary by partner and by item type; some partners issue receipts at the time of pickup, some by mail afterward, and some do not issue receipts for certain donation categories.
If a donation receipt is important to your tax planning, we recommend booking the pickup with that need in mind: contact the local charity directly in advance to confirm whether they issue receipts for the type and condition of item you're donating. We can sometimes provide the name of the receiving partner after pickup, but this is informational only and does not constitute a tax document.
For questions about the tax treatment of donations, we recommend consulting a qualified tax advisor.
